Take care, Bendigo revellers warned

Good advice: Surgeon and Men’s Health advocate Mr Stephen Lindsay warns people to take it easy on the drinks this Australia Day.

Mr Stephen Lindsay has been teaching medical students in Australia at Monash University and internationally for nearly 30 years.

Mr Stephen Lindsay is a Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead of the Foundation Clinical Year program at Monash Rural Health Bendigo which teaches Year 3B Medical Students from Monash University and MD2 students from the University of Melbourne.

He has worked as an Anatomy Demonstrator at Monash University in 1990, Clinical Supervisor at Prince Henry's and Monash Medical Centre in 1990/91, and visiting Senior Lecturer in Anatomy and Surgery at Stanford University Medical School in San Francisco, USA in 1991.

Rural Medical Schools were expanded in the early 2000's to try to get more doctors to country areas. As Chairman of the Senior Medical Staff at Bendigo Hospital he was involved in setting up the Bendigo Regional Clinical School (as it was then called) and has been an Honorary Senior Lecturer/Teaching Associate since 2002. He has worked as Senior Lecturer and Academic Lead of the Foundation Clinical Year program at Monash Rural Health - Bendigo (as it is now called) since 2016.

He speaks to GP groups, nurses and other allied health professionals, Prostate cancer support groups, community groups and at men's health nights. 

In 2012 he convened the Urology Society of Australia and New Zealand - Urology Victorian State Meeting, attracting over 100 Urologists and Urology Trainees, Urology Nurses and other delegates to Bendigo from Australia and internationally.
